So bummed. They must've used a mannequin to fit these, because they are not made for the majority of women who actually work in the trades. Women with toothpick legs and flat butts don't need hammer loops... I go up and down ladders all day, I have muscles! Aesthetically, the fabric seems durable, but had a funny look. Maybe they need more practice working spandex into their clothing? Also, $8 to ship, $12 to return ship, $20 poorer with nothing to show. Save your money, or at least try them on in a store.

Glad I decided to listen to the other reviewers about the sizing running large- the 2 regular fits. Like other reviewers have said, the legs are a bit on the loose side, not quite as "skinny jean" as it looks on the model, but still way more comfy and feminine than the traditional Carhartt double fronts. To help with sizing, I'm 5'6", 129# with a 26 inch waist.

Please bring back the red duck. Fit great and are a slim fit carhartt pant. They definitely don't need to be any slimmer. Durability is lacking. I've went through 4 pairs and have 2 left. It's a matter of time before they rip too. I've been waiting for the red duck to order more.

I was a bit concerned about these with the review, but they've turned out to be a great purchase. I had trouble getting the website to ship to canada, it kept coming up with error prompts, so I shipped them to a friends house in the states and had them bring them up. In american clothing I usually wear a size two, but according to the online size charts I should have been a 4-6. Well, I bought the 2, and I'm glad I did. They fit perfect. I recommend sizing down with these pants. I love having all the extra little slip pockets for sharpies/exacto knives, and I am greatful for the slim fit as the shop I'm working in is very full right now so it's difficult to move around! These are way better than any work pants available to women in Canada. My tree planter friends are already trying to get me to order them some too...

I was super disappointed in these pants. As soon as I opened them I immediately realized how poor the quality is. Also the fit is not slim, they are loose and baggy. I would have returned them but I was desperate for work pants and live in the middle of nowhere so I'm stuck with a 50$ pair of pants that I'll never buy again. I used to be a huge fan of CarHartt but their products have gone down the drain.

As a landscaper who is a small person with a short torso, I find it extremely hard to find a rugged durable work pant. I was extremely excited when I ordered these pants. The size is ok, however the waist sits almost under my boobs. These are not in any way a lower waisted pant. The hips and the thighs in these pants are great and are a slimmer fit which it is much appreciated. Please look at other denim companies and how they fit. Having different sizes including leg length, waist fit and thigh fit would be great.

These pants are great for working outside! I wear these for field labs outdoors when I'm hiking through black berry or raspberry and they hold up. The only thing I'm not fond of it how high the waist is. I prefer low to mid rise and these pants are mid to high rise. They were a little baggy in the seat area as well.. I wish Carhartt would make a size 0.

I love how the slim fit stays a little more fitted through the knee compared to other Carhartt's I own, but the material is not super durable-looking. I work in the landscaping industry and these pants only lasted me ~4 months (mid April-August) before getting big holes in the knees of that top front layer of fabric. It's so hard to find pants for women that are just as durable as the mens pants but aren't super baggy. We work just as hard as men do. If you guys ever redesign these pants please make that top front layer of fabric with the 12 oz then the rest of the pants can be made with the slim fitted 10.5 oz fabric. Also, wider and deeper cargo pockets would be super useful :)!

I'm a fit, average sized woman, normally a size 3 or 5 in regular blue jeans. I bought a pair of these in size 2, slim fit, and they were much too big. They were incredibly loose on my thighs and waist. I hemmed the thighs to fit correctly, and have to wear a belt to fit my hips. Sizing is entirely wrong, and needs to go to a smaller size, if your size 2 is closer to a size 7.

True To Size Carhartt
I was excited to purchase some slim-fit Carhartts because I don't like a lot of extra fabric around the ankles, and the double front is great for bush whacking while hunting and for hand weeding on my 3-acre farm. I've had men's Carhartts before and loved their durability and so thought the women's pants would hold up the same. However. These are not designed as durable as the men's pants. They fit and look great, but the second time I wore them, I brushed up against my truck's tailgate latch and ripped just about half the pant leg off. The same pants injury happened on my men's double-front pants and the small hole that resulted hasn't grown in a couple years of wearing them. Super disappointed that Carhartt has joined the long list of companies that have gained some popularity with the hipster crowd and let their quality tank.

I perform environmental restoration work in Seattle and use these as my work pants. I had a different style at first and found them to be uncomfortable and a poor fit. It was a struggle to get my leg over downed logs. Durability-wise they were great but I didn't think I should have to compromise comfort for durability. So I bought the slim fit double front dungarees. I think they're great fit wise. They're comfortable, I can actually lift my legs and bend down and not feel suffocated in my work pants. Plus they breathe well and overall look nice which is hard to come by in work pants. However, this pair that I just purchased my is third pair in about a year and a half and that seems a little ridiculous to me. They have frayed at the bottom, holes have a appeared in the side pockets where I keep my tools, and the knees have worn through the first layer. I would expect carhartt to provide the same quality/comfort to both men and women.

I bought these pants for two jobs: first, for a summer in Ireland working on an archaeological dig; and second, as field pants for my day job as a park ranger. They needed to be durable for multiple environments, including crawling through caves and tombs, and hold up to mud and rough stone, and in a color close enough to NPS green to get away with in my uniform - and I was completely satisfied, both with the fit/style and with the strength of the fabric. They don't seem to be showing any wear after several months of hard, hard use. My only complaint was the fabric took several washings to come completely clean after being covered in mud, but it's something I can live with. I would recommend these pants - even for shorter women, like me (5'2")- they fit me perfectly, with just enough room to move, but they probably wouldn't fit anyone with curvy hips or wider calves. They're my new favorite pair of field pants!

I absolutely adore these pants, they fit well, perfect pockets for tools and look great. They are however I wish they came in the same fabric as the men's pants. I have owned 4 pairs of these pants and have definitely put them to the test by working as a snowcat operator and millwright assistant. All four of my pants have faded very quickly and each of them ended up with holes at the pockets and in the seat after barley a season of wearing them. I am still rocking my same double front duck jeans I have purchased almost 8 years ago and go figure they are still standing the test of time. (I just feel like a sack of potatoes as I am tiny). Despite them not being as tough as I hoped I still love these pants I have owned these in the 4 for summer and wear the 6 in winter happily with thermals underneath.

Alright Carhartt, I finally came to terms with the fact that these work pants are a) made for the most straight-hipped bean-pole-esque humans out there (this coming from someone quite tall and lean) b) the inferior fabric quality (it's a loose knit weave dyed only on one side) c) extremely limited sizing - wearing a 2 now that has 1.5" in the waist band held up by a belt d) limited colors...but now it seems that between the time I bought my first pair in brown 1 year ago and the two pairs I bought yesterday in the store, you have chosen to SHRINK the size of the pen pocket so that it is not deep enough to accept the clip of the cap making all my pens fall out of my pocket every time I sit or bend my leg. Why? Just why? Why not one more inch so that it actually functions? Why not use the same canvas as the men's work pant? Why not make a size 0? A curvy fit? I own 3 pairs of these simply because there is no other option out there, but really, Carhartt...you can do better.

Why do women get the cheap, lightweight material while men's are so much sturdier? I wore straight through two pairs of these pants in the time it takes me to break in a pair of men's carhartts... The pockets went first, had holes in both of the front pockets just from my phone and a pen i carry around; the thighs and knees went next. These look and feel great, but when i buy carhartts i expect them to stand up to hard work. If i wanted designer "town pants" i'd look somewhere else.

While some reviewers have complained about this product, I have been thrilled to finally find pants that have pockets that can actually hold tools and can survive longer than a few weeks in a hard shop environment. They are comfortable, there's no gapping in the waistband, I can carry tools, and work in a tough environment without fear of them suddenly tearing. That said, there is a small hole appearing in the leg after a year of hard use. PLEASE, CARHARTT, make women's pants as thick as men's! If these were that thick, I would buy them again in a heartbeat. As it is, I'll sadly have to search around to try and find a thicker brand. If you plan to use these a few times a week, using them hard, expect them to work well for at least a year.

Carhartt - Women don't buy these pants for fashion, we buy them for function, we buy them to wear to work and we need them to last. We notice when you reduce the amount of stitching, shrink the size of the double front, and use inferior fabric. I should not be able to hold up a new pair of pants and see through the butt. These pants are going to fall apart in no time. Get with the program. You need to make your women's line as durable as the men's.

I wasn't sure how durable they would be for the hell I would put them through as a welder, but I LOVE them! SO comfy, just enough stretch, and look great. I read reviews saying to go up a size, so I did, and I found that they stretched out enough that I could have stuck with my regular size. IF YOU ARE A PIPE WELDER, I don't think they would withstand grinding beads. They are good for ironworking and welding, but I feel like they would disintegrate in the thigh area from grinder sparks even faster than normal-weight Carhartts. I usually speed-sew an extra patch on my thigh because mine wear out so fast. So yeah, good for welding, not good for grinding beads. Will definitely be buying more pairs!

I'm a geologist at a gold mine so I work around sharp rocks, tools, and have to move around all day between drill rigs and the core shack (10-12 hours days, 5 days a week.) I'm also fairly small-figured and young: I don't want to wear really baggy pants 60 hours a week so these pants are actually perfect! I already own moss and shadow and now I'm coming back for the brown. I wish Carhartt would make these in dark brown and black as well. I mentioned I'm smaller- I wear a definite size 2 in these pants. They do run a little large but that's ideal for a work pant in my opinion. I just need to wear a belt and when it gets cold outside they're perfect with a base layer. I hope these remain in production for a long time.

I was disappointed to find that these pants do not fit the picture. I would say I'm a similar body shape to the model in the photo. I bought a size 4 which ended up being too large in the waist (belt required), too large in the upper legs and FAR too tight in the bum. I am not a wide hipped person or have a large behind, which is why I'm so confused as to why these are such a poor fit. Very unhappy with the pants and since I'm a Canadian who paid in USD, I'm double out of luck.

I am an Army vet and now I work as a Sawyer (chainsaw operator)/Logger, felling and removing dead and diseased trees from the mountains near Avon, Co. I only gave these pants 4 stars because the sizing is off. I am 5'7 1/4", and around 125-130lbs. I typically wear a 4, but ordered a 2 after reading other reviews, and the 2 is still just a tiny bit roomy around my waist. Also, as others have stated, Carhartt needs to offer the "long" option for the smaller sizes. I don't understand why they don't already. These pants brush the tops of my work boots, and as I'd rather have them out of the way than getting caught on something on the job, I don't mind them not reaching the ground, but anyone taller than me, or anyone wanting pants that touch the ground, would definitely need the long. Aside from the sizing issues, these pants (size 2) fit my body nearly perfectly and are extremely comfortable to work in. They also feel very durable, and are thicker than the men's Carhartt pants my boyfriend wears.

As a flower farmer I put my pants through long, dirty days. I've always worn carhartt's 100% canvas double front pants and could get at least 2 years of work out of them before the knees started to blow out. Here's what happens when you work in these pants: Upon putting them on they immediately stretch out so you need to belt up before you even start the work day. The continual stretching out plus sweat means that every time you squat your crack shows, (unless you've cinched the belt so tight that the back gets that great gathered look.) By day two you've completely lost all shape in the upper section of the pants. I'm already seeing wear in the pockets and knees and I'm still in the first month. I feel that if you loose the stretch material and go 100% cotton again so many of these issues will be resolved. Or label these pants as "casual wear" and lose the "work" part. I do like the cut, however. It's nice not to have as much bulk. Free advice about your women's market- most actually prefer a rugged pant EQUAL in quality/durability to the men's pant line, as women are throwing down just as hard in the field as men.

I bought two pairs of these pants(Shadow and Moss), so I could alternate between the two for my 5 day a week job. The pockets and knee inserts are great. The quality seemed there for the first few months, but without warning of distress the thigh area just ripped open during wear. The holes are huge, and it happened to both pairs within days of each other. I'm 5'7" size 4 and weigh 138. If you have thighs that touch, you may want to think about whether or not you should purchase these pants. Carhartt, you really need to go back to the drawing board with the design of the saddle area. I am so extremely disappointed!

BUT the Jean pair blew out in butt area. Not a little hole either full on blow out. I had to walk around my home town with my granny panties exposed. The green pair seem to be holding up, hopefully

I have very thin legs, and per the advertised picture, I expected these pants to be fitted as such. Really, they are boot cut. If what I received were slim fit, I would have used a 5 star rating. But other than that mix up, I will be loving these for work (until the weather gets hot). I will also be wearing these as brush pants in the woods, which will be very nice with the double front leg material. Big roomy pockets are very nice also! Plenty of room to wear long underwear under them, as I am between sizes.

I like these pants and have ordered several of these in different sizes trying to get the right fit, as there is nowhere in my area to try them on in person. I decided to return my regulars for talls and the entire pant expanded- the new pair, while the same size is now huge in the waist and throughout. I only wanted them to be longer. I'm tired of paying for shipping back and forth and wish Carhartt would make these with greater continuity.

For years we have had the men's carhartt double fronted pants. They were our issued uniform. After finding the women's slim fit version, the entire crew is ecstatic to have pants that fit properly, that don't dig into our waist with a men's fit, and have room for our hips! The old women's fit from 10 years ago was uncomfortable, and this fit is wonderful.

Carhartt, hear me out: there are women who want to shop with you because we've heard your clothes are good for working outdoors and in harsh weather! I work on a farm - I'm not super focused on style in this area of my life; I need strong work pants. The pockets on these pants are tiny, they're too slim-fitting, and the material is far too thin. I wish you might consider making the men's pants in women's sizes... that's what I came to you for, and I just couldn't find the same quality.

I am definitely not one to write reviews on things (as this is my first one), but I am writing because I absolutely love the cut and look of this pant, but this is now the third pair I am ordering. They ALWAYS tear between my legs, leaving me with a big hole right below my butt/ in between my legs. This is embarrassing because I work in a field of men climbing in and out of tractor trailers. I wish they were more durable in the parts of the pant where women have a little extra that men do not.

Right away, these pants seem great (they just arrived today). I finally found a pair of work pants in my size (women's 4), and they have a high enough rise for doing a lot of bending and crouching. It has been extremely frustrating searching for work gear that fits, and now that I've found pants, I am concerned by how thin the fabric feels; I will not be wearing these to look like I'm working, I will be putting them to the test (forestry and environmental restoration work), so I need them to last. I hope to see Carhartt put out a women's pant that is up to par with the men's, and I know I'm not the only one in my industry who feels the same. I am hopeful these will last, and am looking forward to trying them out!

I ordered three pairs of these work pants and I absolutely LOVE them! I work for a utility company so I am outside working in the dirt and mud a lot of days and these pants move with me. I was tired of having to re position my regular jeans and having to worry about my back side showing when I would bend over. I don't have to worry about that with these pants. I wear a 6 tall in regular jeans and the 6 tall in these fit perfect as well so I would say they are very true to size. I love that they have pockets on the side for my cell phone, tools and knife. The front pockets are also very deep which is a plus. The double knees are also a great feature since I am down of the ground a lot. I will be ordering two more pair so that I will have a pair for every day of the week. Thank you Carhartt for making great work pants for women because they are very hard to come by!

I generally wear a size 0. I rarely find hunting clothes that fit me. The sizing of these Carhartt pants are way off. Why is there no 0 available? Why is the 2 not available in short? Smaller women need work wear too. When held up to my other size 2 pants these are a good 2-3 inches larger in the waist. In reality, the Carhartt size 2 is about a size 4. The style is wonderful, if they were wearable. Not satisfied with the purchase at all.

I'm so excited about these pants! I LOVE that they don't have excess fabric in the legs like the "regular fit" work pants, and they fit in the butt and thighs. First of all, I really love these pants. I bought my first pair size 8 which is generally my normal size (i'm about 5-7, hippy at 140ish pounds) and they fit, but then realized after wearing them for a few hours they start to stretch and became a bit too baggy. So for my second pair I went with a size 6... seems to be a better fit for me after the "stretch" factor. I would recommend sizing down, especially if you are borderline or unsure. otherwise, these are some of the most comfortable pants I have ever owned, aside from my sweatpants. They are definitely more of a "straight leg" fit as opposed to "skinny" which I prefer, slim enough to fit under my muck boots, but wide enough to fit over my hiking boots. I will definitely be buying more!

Flimsy material. Why aren't they as heavy of a fabric as other styles?? Pretty disappointed that there is not a small enough size for me. These pants are super cute. I've had them for a year, and worn them frequently. I'm a huge fan of the cut, and I feel practical and feminine while wearing them. That's important to me. BUT what is also important to me is QUALITY, and that is where Carhartt has failed. The material on these babies is wicked thin compared to their standard men's work pants, and my pair of women's sized overalls. What gives? You say Carhartt, you expect Carhartt quality. These pants talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Carhartt, please listen to your audience. We are tough women who need tough pants. We want to wear pants that fit our bodies better. Sometimes, we want to look sexy in our work pants (other times, we want to blend in to avoid misogynist coworkers and bosses. Both feelings are valid, although the second one is an AWFUL reality). We have the money and we have the need, and if you're gonna keep failing to deliver with B list products, we can stop buying Carhartt. If we wanted skimpy fashion, we wouldn't be shopping your brand. Please deliver what we want.

I do farm work in them and woodworking and I've gotten complements from many different people! Loved these pants- often won't order pants online because I need the tall, and I did find the sizing chart a bit "off" for me personally. The recommended size was a 10 (I am 5'9 and 135 pounds with the curvaceousness of a Twizzler) gut instinct said to go with an 8 tall and that fit is perfect before and after washing and drying. Pants look great, more flattering than some other size 8 pants I have in other styles of Carhartt- I wear them a ton.

I bought a pair of these when they first came out. The fit was perfect and they were pretty durable. I've had that pair of pants for almost two years now and have had no issues. I ordered two pairs a few weeks ago and I am SO disappointed. These used to be my favorite pants. I ordered a size two, which used to provide a comfortable somewhat loose fit. These ARE huge!!!! The fit is weird too, they are high wasted and the waist is quite large, but when I bend down in them, they expose way more than I would ever want exposed. They are super long too! The material is also different, feels way less durable and honestly less comfortable. So sad since these used to be my absolute favorite pants!

These are very flattering pants. The waistband sits quite a bit higher than most modern pants on the market today (just below the belly button), but if you can get over how that feels, ultimately it adds to the flattering silhouette of this style. Also, at 5'3" & 135lbs, I usually wear between a size 5, 6 or 7 in most brands, but in these I wear size 4 short, and the fit is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

These pants for like men's pants. The seat is tight and the waist is huge. The material is not as tightly woven as my old, canvas Carhartts. It is a looser weave and not as thick. I have not worn them long enough to rate the durability but I suspect that they will not last as long as my old, canvas Carhartts. I would give these pants more stars if they fit better. They are cut like they should be worn by someone with a square body (think... SpongeBob SquarePants...)

These are great pants but...Carhartt can do better. I have worn Carhartt pants, men's and women's, for various jobs over the past 17 years. These are some of my favorite. However they simply do not hold up to the 12 oz.double-fronted work dungaree work pants. I am 5'5", 155 lbs, and fit well in the size 12 and have owned four pairs. I work on conservation land and hike up to 8 miles a day in thickly vegetated terrain, fixing barbed wire fences, cutting trail, hauling material, ect. I need a more durable pant that fits/looks like these! I get compliments all the time on these pants and will continue to buy them every season but would love to see something "meatier" for the ladies. Thanks!

I was excited to try these out. As a design/build professional, I've counted on my good ol' double front Carhartt canvas dungarees for years - reliable, but not exactly flattering. I was hoping these might be durable and fashionable. Upon receiving the pants, I noticed immediately that the material is quite thin in comparison to the traditional canvas double-fronts. These fit a tiny bit large (but not egregious) when I first tried them on (even though I used the size chart to order), but by the end of my first day in them, they had completely stretched out and were hanging off me. The Carhartt patch on the back pocket had also been sewn through to the interior - cutting off the use of one of my most high-traffic pockets. A single day on the jobsite and this pair of pants was lookin' mighty worse for wear... I called up Carhartt and expressed my disappointment. They were super receptive and have offered to refund my purchase. I don't envy the position they're in - making durable and flattering women's pants is a tall order (we've got a much larger range of shapes and sizes than men). Keep at it, Carhartt! But it's not there yet... For reference, I'm 5'-3", 130lb and usually wear a 4 or 6 in women's pants.

Just bought my third pair of these. Use the size chart because i it is correct. I went from a size 12 to a 4. I was nervous about purchasing the 4 becauseI thought there was no way I would fit a 4. But after double checking my measurements, 26 waist & 36 hip, I went for it. I will need a belt, but these are great!!! Will buy another pair soon.

I always dislike looking at labels and seeing that the product is made somewhere outside the country, and I feel like the products made in this country, or at least Mexico are of better quality than those made in China (like these are). However, I think most of the complaints about the fabric being thin or of poor quality are because it is not 100% canvas cotton like many of Carhartt's other products. When you conisder the cut of these pants, they would be bordering on unwearable if the material was thicker or lacked the 2% spandex that is blended with the cotton. I wear a size 4 short and they fit great, comfortable, not skin tight to the point that I can barely get in them, and they still restrict leg movement a bit when I'm climbing into trucks and things like that. These are form flattering work pants. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Unfortunatley, if you want the durability of the pants for men, you have to sacrifice on the flattering cut because you wouldn't be able to move properly if they made these out of stiffer material.

...but not really. The pockets rip if you carry any tools. The fabric looks threadbare after just a couple wears. The sizing is way different than the last womens pants I got. I used to be a union laborer and now do ranch work. I would never have worn these on the job before. They just squeak by now. They sure do look good though. And it is so nice to have that shorter inseam and stretch. The other weird thing is the brown/orange ones were a different fit and style than the moss and charcoal. And had no pocket whatsoever. I'm not sure what i'm getting when I order.

I've worn men's Carhartts for a long time. I've never had an issue with wearing mens. Although they never did fit properly. More recently my job has required green work pants. I thought these would be great. They were out of stock in the size 4 for the past two weeks. So, I contacted customer service to find out when they would be back in stock. They told me the beginning of the week. I checked every morning. Finally, towards the end of the week they were back in stock! I put them in my cart and planned on buying them as soon as I got home. Went to go check out and they were out of stock again (less than 12 hours!). Seriously, I've been waiting three weeks to purchase these pants. Women work too. Stocking the pants would be a great idea. Carhartt...you have failed.

I am a size 6, 135lb. Alaskan gal needing good, durable work pants. Wore Carhartt men's pants for 30+ years due to no women's available -- they were great except for being tight in the butt and way too high/uncomfortable in the waist. So I was excited a few years back when they designed the first women's styles. Unfortunately, those first runs were way too big/too roomy and less comfortable than the men's. Carhartt is getting closer...still a long way to go though. These pants run 1 to 2 sizes smaller than a normal size, so order up if you have muscular legs. The canvas seems much lighter and less durable than the men's styles I've worn in the past, but we'll see how they hold up. I had no trouble with availability, nor with returning the size 6 for a size 8 -- shipping was impressively FAST.

I got the size 2 in Moss. I am 5'7" 125lbs and very active with hiking, etc. The first time I tried them on, they fit weird and tight but after washing and wearing they have been perfect ever since. Slim enough to be flattering and not excessive, these pants are my go-to for being outdoors in the unforgiving brush I often have to walk through. Every time I wear them, somebody I meet wants to know what they are and where she can get a pair. I would love to see Carhartt make a hot weather version for us southwestern women who have to be outdoors in the heat.

I bought a pair of these at a Carhartt store a couple of months ago. Have been wearing them a couple times a week. When trying them on for the first time, they fit a little weird. They don't go in enough at the waist so when I sit down or just sometimes standing there is an extra gap at the back of the top. The store employee recommended I try a size smaller and that helped a little. I usually wear a size 4 but got a size 2 and they fit comfortably and loosened up after a while. I decided to just deal with it and wear a belt but it'd be nice if I didn't need to. The other thing I wished was that they made a long version of the size 2. I am skinny and tall and the mediums are long enough to touch my shoes but show a good amount of my ankle if I sit down.

I have always had trouble finding nice quality pants that are durable AND look good. These pants are everything a working women could want. They have just enough stretch in them, they are comfortable, durable, and they look really good in the leg and butt too. The front pockets are a little small, but still deeper than most pants for women these days. I get complimented on them every time I wear them. Definitely recommend them! I have them in two colors now and am going to buy more. One thing to note is that the denim fit a little less tight in the waist than my grey ones, they are the same fit and style so I am not sure why that is. A few other ladies have noted that they are a little tighter in the waist as well. I ordered my normal size, but if you think you are worried about having enough room in the waist I would order a size up. I have always loved Carhartt, but these slim fit jeans bumped up my love for them even more.

I have enough room to move comfortably but without any bagginess. Unlike other carhartts they don't need any break-in time. I work in Arizona so I am happy with the lighter weight material and find it very comfortable. After wearing them to work once, several other ladies were going to try them on and find a pair!

First off, the fit- as with other Carhartts, the sizing seems really off on this. My typical size 6-8 becomes a size 2 in these pants. Whoul'da thunk Carhartt would have such crazy vanity sizing. Love the fit and look of these pants though. The regular fit dungarees have far too much extra fabric, particularly in the knees. Now I can wear my knee pads without chaffing from the stiff fabric at the back of my knees, and it's a much more comfortable fit all around. However, although these are also double front dungarees, the quality is just not up to snuff for a heavy duty work pant. I'm a carpenter, and was disappointed that the tape measure loop is missing from these pants on both sides, but no biggie. Moreover, I can't seem to keep my tools in the pockets. I've had these pants for a couple of months and I've ripped a hole in the bottom of almost every pocket. Squatted down with nail sets in the side pocket-ripped through. (Blunt) speed square in the back pocket- big old hole. And so on. Never a problem with the regular fit dungarees. It seems as though the weave is quite a bit looser. The dye also seemed to fade starting with the first wash (on cold). I did get the dark green, as the traditional tan was out of stock, so it may not be as bad in other colors. I'm likely to keep wearing this style over the classic, to be honest, just because of how much comfier the fit is, but really upset with the downgrade in quality.

Have taken delivery of two pair of the Slim Double Front Dungaree in Size 2 Regular. A rugged, well-appointed work jean that fits-- I am delighted to have found them! Now, if I could only . . . get . . . my . . . hand . . . into . . . the. . . front . . . pocket . . . Note to Carhartt designers: While Size 2 types may not have a lot of flesh, we still have bones. Simply scaling down the pant design proportionately has resulted in a pocket opening too small for my average-sized (at 5'4' and 110 lbs) hands. The opening would be adequate, I think, if it reached over to the front belt loop. Other than that, couldn't be happier with these dungarees.

I LIVE IN THESE. Work and play. Denim and canvas versions. I'm a non-curvy gal and these fit like I was the manikin in the design lab. I first purchased these last year, a different production I think. I have since purchased more this year. If I could give a 4.5 stars I would for one complaint: I wear a 2 and the pocket entry holes are tiny! From last year to this year, however, they added much-needed depth to the pockets so they are at least more functional - I hate how women's pants so often have pockets to fit a few fingers and maybe some coins :( I have read other reviews about the fabric being thinner than their other double-fronts (that are duck cotton) and I agree - these will not last years, and already show wear at stress points, whereas the much less flattering old school ones I have worn for years show nada. One pair of these tore the first time I snagged on a wire at work. But it seems to be the price you pay for stretch (yay!) and looking like a gal (yay!) in work pants. Waaaaay worth it to me. FYI the denim version is thicker and definitely sturdier, and is heavenly. Just can't wear denim to work :( Because these are so awesome Carhartt will probably discontinue.... have bad luck with finding size 2 already in a tan color (required for work). I'd replace last year's if they restocked them!

I was thrilled to see Carhartt expanding their women's pants options and bought two pairs of these to replace a pair of men's double-fronts that the crotch finally went on after 5-6 years of farm work. Both pairs of these women's pants have worn through in the crotch in less than a year. I was so disappointed and now will have to start my search for a quality brand for women's work pants all over again. It makes me sad when a brand that people rely on for their jobs gains a little bit of popularity and then the quality we rely on takes a dive. For shame.

Totally dig these. They are slimmer than the other styles Carhartt offers so I don't feel 100% like a construction worker but can handle any work related activities. I bought both the grey and olive in the short length the waistline fits the same in both but the grey is longer and more baggy at the bottom. I imagine they are created with the same pattern, so I'm not sure why the legs would be differing. I also wish the sizing across Carhartt patterns were the same. With the original fit, I went down a size, so I anticipated this style to be similar, however, it is smaller and fits closer to what I'd find at any other retailer.

I ordered these pants one size bigger (10) than my usual Carhartt pants (8) because the slim fit made me a bit wary (I have "strong" legs) and I needed these for the field so I like them to fit a tad looser. When I got them, I absolutely loved them but they fit me tighter than my usual 8's, more like jeans I'd wear out (tighter through the hips and waist) rather than work pants for the woods. On a positive note though, my boyfriend LOVES the fit! He says they look great and I agree, they just wont function at this size for what I want them for so I'm going to return them for one more size bigger. I'd totally suggest these for friends and I can't wait to get them in the correct size!!!!

I am 5' 7" and ordered a 4R and they fit lovely, not too snug but enough room for mobility. I will probably get another color. The only thing I would mention is if you plan to really put these to hard use the fabric may not be as durable as the Original Fit style, just something to consider. I think these will hold up well though...time will tell.

I'm 5'4", 120-125 lbs and I chose a size 2. These fit really well, not too tight around the thigh or calf, with enough room to bend and kneel but without being bulky like my classic Carhartt dungarees. The waistband is big enough to cover my (sizeable) butt even when I bend down, but it does gap in the back. Yes, the fabric is not as heavy or tightly woven as the traditional canvas, but that's to be expected with a lycra blend fabric, and I think the double-front will make up for it. They look cute, too.

I'm not sure if I tried on a freak pair of these pants or not but I've been pretty consistently wearing a women's med/large 10/12 for a couple years now and I couldn't even button these in a 14. I've never worn a 14 in any brand before so while it was a bit demoralizing I realize it must be a sizing issue. I've since ordered a 16 which is a full 2+ sizes larger than my normal size only because these pants look like they will be amazing if I can get a size that fits. I usually wear a size or two smaller in Carhartt than other brands (patagonia, levi, prana) but this time around I've got the opposite problem. The pants are definitely a flattering fit and a nice change from the usual boxy work pants. The fabric is lighter weight than classic carhartts but seems very nice.

I purchased the regular length and had to take them up a bit. I would swim in a 4. They bend and move easily at work. If you like a snug fit (and why would you at work?) you might even go down two sizes. They also look way better than they do as pictured on the Carhartt model. In fact, I find that I sometimes reach for them for casual wear. I'm in the landscape design and construction business and find these perfectly adequate in terms of durability, utility and quality. Glad I finally pulled the trigger on ordering these! The price is a lot more than I usually pay , but I figured why not try out a pair of work dungarees that might fit well. I'm 5'7" and very thin so the original carhartt cut is way baggy. These fit absolutely perfect. Not to tight not to loose, and they ride at my natural waist. The only downside is the fabric. I understand incorporating stretch into the fabric means a slightly less durable pant, but these are super thin. I'm curious to see how they hold up

These are the first women's Carhartt pants I've purchased. While I love them, I do wish we had an inseam option like the men's pants have, which is why I typically buy them. Being a woman who is 6'2" and needing a 37"-38" inseam, finding long enough pants for work is nearly impossible. I'm 5'4 120-125 lbs, when I'm at my lowest weight the size 2 is even a bit baggy -but when I'm up around 125 they fit like a glove with room to spare for bending down & moving around. The slim dungarees were much better than original for style and fit. I get lots of compliments on them from men and women. I'm 5'4" and 145 lbs. The size 10 regular pants fit true to size and did not run big. Flattering through thigh and lower legs. Original fit Carhartts (lined and unlined) ordered at the same time ran 1 to 2 sizes bigger and had to be returned. The inseam of these in 10 regular is perfect. The waist, however, is very high. The button is in alignment with my belly button, which makes them fairly uncomfortable for bending over (Aren't these supposed to be work pants?) and makes them look a little dumpy around the hips and belly. On the model, the waist is shown to leave 2-3" inches between the top of the pants and her belly button. Not on me. Mom-jean fit here. The fabric is thinner than the original dungarees and therefore not as durable. I got a tiny hole next to a rivet the first time I washed the gray pair, but no other damage after maybe 2 dozen washes and using them like true work pants for 6+ months. The gray pants actually have black stitching (unlike in the picture online) which makes them look like faded black pants rather than intentionally gray pants. Overall: I recommend them because I (unfortunately) can't find anything more flattering or work-wear appropriate for my job. I'll probably order the green ones eventually, which they now offer. Thanks for adding colors! Next please add Carhartt brown or honey ginger!

Comfortable but NOT a well-built work-pant

I am a professional archaeologist and need good sturdy and thick pants for the field. I was really happy that Carhartt decided to make a more feminine shaped dungaree. I absolutely love the cut, length, shape and color (gray), BUT these pants are actually very thin and cheap feeling. If you hold up the pants to the light you can actually see through the fabric. My zipper broke after only a few washes and about a months worth of use and I had to get it repaired. If you have to go through any kind of thorny brush prepare to get stabbed because these are just too thin. Overall, I use these pants for around town and such because they simply cannot hold up to my workday's standards. If you want a slim fit fashion pant then get these, but if you want durable pants you can actually work in don't waste your time.

True To Size Carhartt
Finally a pair of carhartt pants that women can look feminine in! I literally just tried mine on and I love them..not to mention the shipping was great. I received mine with ground shipping in one day. I'm normally a size 3/4 -5 depending on style and brand. Rarely do I wear a size 2. I'm 5'3", 135# (+ or -) . I ordered size 2 regular because most reviews said they ran large. I almost went with the 4, but glad I didnt. Love the ones I got. Thanks, Carhartt!

I am 5'7, 144 pounds. I almost got the 4 but decided to go with the 6 and they fit perfect! I love that they fit like regular jeans and still look good on your butt. Feminine but durable! Going to have these things forever. Gotta get a pair for yourself! Please keep making these!!!!

Tapered version of a Dungaree

Always being on the lookout for outdoor work pants that hold up and are flattering, I found these while looking through men's Carhartt Dungarees. I went ahead and got them, which I'm so glad I did since they ran out of my size very quickly. I would compare the sizing to that of my regular jeans (I'm a size 4/5 in Levis and most of my thrifted jeans, and these fit great in that size). My only complaint is that the durability of the fabric seems compromised compared to the hardier fabrics used for men's Dungaree pants. I don't know if the style of tapered legs or a slim fit call for a weaker material, but I'd love if they would come out with this style again in something similar to men's Carhartt pants. Last word, these are a decent pair of work pants that look great.

I am around 125lbs, 5'4 and I ordered a size 2 regular. While they fit quite well in length and around my waist, they definitely don't fit as tight in the butt and thighs that are shown in the picture, and I am decently muscular. They should be great for working out in the field this summer. These also aren't as stiff as other women's carhartt pants that I have tried on. Overall, I am super glad that I was finally able to order some of these. Try to get them if they come back in stock in smaller sizes!

I love these pants so much. They fit me just right and I love how they have a bunch of pockets without being bulky. I wear them 4 days a week for 7 hours a day welding and they are holding up really well. I hope they get more colors in and keep carrying them, I will be buying many more in the future.

I guess I wasn't prepared for how these pants would fit. I was looking more for a "skinny" fit since I'm rather petite and can't find ANY work pants that actually truly fit me. I love the look and comfort of them, but the fit is just seems to be a male Carhartt fit with a slim pant leg opening. I'd recommend them to someone who is more of a size 4 or 6 and up but not to us petite 2 and below. Doesn't help that I'm 5' either. The Lordess hath blessed me with just having to wear big work pants. Thanks for trying, Carhartt! I still have faith in you.

I was so excited to find a cute, fitted pair of work jeans. I have now owned them for just over 5 months and they are already falling apart. I work outdoors and put all of my clothes to the test, but these pants just didn't cut it. I've been a loyal customer for years and usually a pair of carhartt jeans will last me two to three years. I am so disappointed in these. The pocket ripped where I keep my pruners attached within the first month, followed by many rips and holes caused by the rivets in the double front. I'm still going to give carhartt brand another chance and try a different pair of jeans (not that there are many other options of womens work clothes in the first place). Be warned, these pants aren't true work pants.

This is my first time wearing or ordering Carhartts, and I'm pretty thrilled! It's impossible to find womens' work pants in Southern Ontario. I ordered a size 2 and a size 4, as the website recommended a 4 for me but reviews said they ran large. I prefer the 2, the waist is almost a perfect fit (tiny bit tight), and the hips/butt are great. That being said, I'm going to keep the 4 as well...it'll be good for extra layers underneath in winter. I was debating between this style or the traditional dungarees, but I'm glad I chose these. I have a slim build, and the legs of these pants don't fit me slim at all! They're not even close to being snug around my thighs. Even the size 2 just looks like a straight leg on me. I'm okay with that though, I'll still be happier than I was wearing flimsy jeans. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and looking forward to going back to work in comfy, sexy pants! (No plumbers crack is also a plus)

Finally!! I've been searching for such a long time to find work pants that will hold up at my job but also designed for women. These pants feel great hiking up and down hills and through all kinds of nasty brush, not bulky or heavy at all. My only wish is that they came in more colors!

I bought a 12 short, I'm 5'4" 160, pear shaped, they fit great! I little higher in the waist than I was hoping for, but I got use to it and now it's pretty cool. I wish they were 100% cotton, but the material is extremely durable. I wish they came in more colors too, as I would buy them all. I think they fit true to size compared to other stores, where the sizes have been running larger over time. I really hope this style is not discontinued and that Carhartt makes more styles similar to this.

I literally said "Best purchase ever." After I tried them on. I was worried about which size to get. In most jeans size I am a four and in my original carhartts I am a two with space to spare. I got the two looking for a happy medium because I knew the slim fit would be smaller. Turned out to be a perfect fit. I love these pants. I have not tested the durability much, but I have high hopes. Overall I think they are great.

When I was originally told that they were discontinuing these pants - I had to call around to different retail stores to get the correct size- but Carhartt was helpful with getting me the correct size in both colors. Everyone says these run big, but I think the opposite, although they do stretch a little bit as you wear them. I ordered a size up, but I can fit baselayers under mine in the winter. I wear them for field work (hiking off trail through briars and forest under story clutter), adventure and everyday go to pants. They aren't as durable as regular carhartt dungarees - they are actually a slightly different material - not as tight of a fabric weave? The seat of my pants is beginning to wear heavily however- I wore them nearly everyday for a month on my winter back packing adventure and climbed/slid on a lot of rocks scrambling around on hikes with them. So overall I think they are great and am soooo happy they aren't being discontinued- love them and I recommend buying a pair. My only complaint is that I wish they were a bit more durable like my regular carhartts, however it's so nice to have a pair of slim fitting work pants that don't make me look dumpy and that I can still do work in!

Love these pants. They fit well, have great pockets, feel really comfortable, and have a good waist height. It would be great if they came in more colors, like the blues and greens that Carhartt's other dungarees are offered in.

Agree with previous reviewers: - fits big, order size smaller - great quality, work pant whether for daily or occasional gardening, painting, carpentry or other hands on type 'work' - gravely disappointed if this style becomes discontinued Will add: - like the shadow color the most. Would likely like them in coal, if ever available. New version in dark denim should also have dark stitching rather than contrast gold.

I love the cut of these carhartts! They are slim but not too tight, and the waist is high enough for back coverage. The fabric is unfortunately not as heavy as the original double-knee work pants, and I worry it might not hold up. I also wish they were available in tall, and in black. Pretty good though, I plan to wear them a lot.

Pants are durable, well-cut, and well-priced. Went to work and had at least five other employees ask me where I got them and if they come in other colors. A great fit pant that is good to work in and comfortable. I got pants in both colors. Fit is true to size for me, maybe slightly large if you're expecting a slimmer fit. Slim enough to do the job, loose enough to throw on an underlayer during the winter months.

True To Size Carhartt
Finally, there exists modern style work pants for women that fit comfortably and are durable. They run large, however, and recommend going a size smaller. Also, they fit a little more high-waisted than I would like in a slim fit pant. Other than that, the pants are great.
