My first pair of Carhartt Bibs was the R33 Yukon Arctic-Quilt Bibs. Talk about tough. Those Bibs are like sleeping bags. They have heavier insulation and shell than the R38. I love to size up one or two sizes---in the waist. That way, I can fit my hoodie and wool coat with the Bibs. I am 5'9 and 195 pounds. I ordered size 42 x 34 for the R33 (gives me plenty of room for a winter coat, synthetic underwear, and jeans underneath.) I ordered size 40x32 for the R38 ( room for a hoodie or shirtjac and a pair of jeans.) This overall is perfect with a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. This overall is not as warm as my Yukon Artic-Quilt, Carhartt Bibs, but I look less blue-collar in this pair of Bibs than the Yukons. If I get cold when there is no snow on the ground, than I will grab the R38. If I get cold with snow on the ground or very snow conditions, then I will grab the Yukons. Either way, insulated bibs by carhartt will give you the comfort of added warmth. My advice is keep your bibs as dry as possible. It's not wool. But, I love em' I plan to keep buying Bibs----just in case Carhartt drops my favorite Bib from production. Or, a natural disaster occurs in the winter months. My favorite bib by Carhartt are the 1000 Denier Yukon Bibs. Right now, I own two Carhartt bibs: 1) R38 and 2) R 33 Yukon Arctic-Quilt Bibs. I happy recommending these Bibs. I am ordering one more R33 and one more R38. Love em' both to death. By the way, I wear Bibs mostly during the winter months.

Love the carhartts. My inseam is 34 but I ended up with a 28 so they wouldn't drag on the ground. I went up two sizes in waist so I could be layered as well. I would recommend these to anyone!

Only improvement that I would recommend is a little more durable clip on the bibs. Seems like the metal is lesser quality/thinner (hopefully not weaker) than the last pair purchased.

The first day I wore these bibs it was 15 below zero with a wind chill of 45 below, I actually had to take them off, they are that warm and I started to sweat.

I got my pair of these overalls a couple days ago, and am glad to see they are made in USA. The fit was what I was expecting, and they didn't shrink at all in the wash. I did have to wash them twice when I got them, they had a strong smell of mothballs for some reason. After one wash, I could still smell it, so washed them again, and used some febreze with it, and now its only faintly detectable. I hope a few more washings takes the smell away...very odd, never had that happen before. I expect they will last a good long time like my other Carhartt clothes...

I've had these bibs for 17 years! Yes 17, so you can imagine how the look. Around year 15 one of the side zippers broke and a fellow employee told me Carhartt has a lifetime warrenty on their zippers. They sure do. They had them back to me in less then a week. I was shocked! Needless to say its time for another pair. Thank you Carhartt.

I am a heavy equipment mechanic. I work on the big dozers and loaders at a local coal powered electric plant. These bibs are great for when I am working on top of the coal pile in snow and wind. The middle zipper makes them super easy to get on and off. I bought a second set to have at home.

I got these bibs from my Dad about 8 years ago, he had them for 2 or 3 years before that. I have used them for just about everything. Wearing them while working in the woods, ice fishing, hunting, construction, etc. I have worn them so much that the insulation is all matted down and has no warming value left. I am going to be getting another pair before it starts getting too cold around here.

These bibs are great for work - they keep me warm, dry, and clean. Working in agriculture keeps me outside all the time, and these bibs do their job well. My only complaints have to do with the sizing - I'm in-between inseam sizes, so I had to choose between a pair that was too short or a pair that was slightly too long. Also, I have found that the fly doesn't zip down quite far enough to make doing business an easy task. Other than these small flaws however, a great product that I would highly recommend.

I purchased these for my son who works in the forestry industry - he runs a forwarder and is working in all kinds of weather conditions. Living in the Upper Peninsula the winters are EXTREMELY COLD and WINDY - the carhartt brand is his absolute favorite and wouldn't purchase anything else. Like they say, you get what you pay for!

These are extremely comfortable and keep you warm in the dead of winter. They are so durable and tough, that they'll last for years. The range of motion that they allow is amazing. I will definately buy again, and again, and again.

Very good quality and keeps you very warm but fit could be a little better. Inseam is fine but the suspenders are way to long and will have to be altered. I would also suggest ordering a size or two larger as for winter cover you always have layers under it. Temp just dipped to -10 and I was very confortable.
