Built to outperform the competition, it's constructed of 8.5-ounce, 65% polyester/35% cotton twill with triple-stitched main seams. As tough as it is, the jacket is also easy to care for, thanks to its wrinkle-resistant fabric with stain-repel-and-release finish. I don??t know what has happened to Carhartt sizing. Seems they decided to make their products for obese customers only. This thing was huuuuuuge. Just got returned. Every other manufacturer fits normally. Carhartt used to fit but not anymore

This is a high quality jacket that we purchased for the employees of our company for hitting a sales goal. They love the jacket! We did order samples for employees to try on before placing our order and we are glad we did that. The jack does run a little big - mostly in the realm of sleeve length (long!) and arms (large in the bicep area).

The quality is great. However, as others have stated the sleeves are ultimately too long. I take a 42-44, ordered a medium, and the sleeves were probably at least 3 inches too long. There's no way a small would fit. The rest of the jacket fit perfectly. I had to send it back.

Great jacket. Fit better than expected although i wish sleeves were 1/2" shorter. Lining is an added bonus

Not the warmest, but good for mild/moderately chilly temperatures. If you layer it up it's fine for most weathers. Arms do run a tiny bit long but it doesn't ruin the jacket for me. I normally would take a medium but the small fits perfectly.

Yes, the sleeves run long but that works great for me because I wear a tall. Mine is over a decade old and still looks sharp.

I had this before and it was a pretty good jacket, except tht it ripped somewhat easily once when it got caught on part of an air conditioning unit. It left a all snag on the jacket.

A good mid-weight jacket

I purchased this jacket for mid-seasons when the winter coat was too heavy and the golf jacket was too light. The first night I wore this jacket it was 32 degrees with a 20 MPH wind. This jacket kept my torso toasty warm and broke the wind very well. My arms did get just a bit chilly because they are not quilted. The jacket material is heavy duty and looks like it will stand up for a very long time and the jacket is very well made. The only down side is the sizing. I am 6'3" tall and slender. My normal sport coat is 42 Long and I must purchase my shirts in a tall man's store due to the length of my arms, so I purchased a Medium Tall jacket. The jacket fits well in the shoulders, the chest and has a nice snugness across the hips. The only problem is in the sleeves. The sleeves reach way down to my knuckles. That is not a deal breaker, but just be warned, the sleeves are very long. I may have been able to get away with a standard Medium jacket. All in all this jacket is a very good value and Carhartt customer service is second to none. They went out of their way to make sure I got the jacket I wanted.

I'll have to return it for a small because the sleeves are so long. I don' wear a small in any other jacket, but looks like I'll have to try it with this one (and hope my gut will still fit). Nice cut, better quality than Red Cap. But this reasonably priced jacket is becoming expensive since Carhartt doesn't cover any postage coming or going on exchanges.

I get nervous about Carhartt purchases online because their sizing can be so wonky, as is the case here. I'm usually a men's L but sometimes fall between L and M, depending on the item and manufacturer. Thanks to previous reviewers, I ordered the M and am glad I did. Besides being a size too large overall, the sleeves are still incredibly long. Meanwhile, it's low-waisted, sitting somewhat below the belt. But that's all small potatoes. This thing looks sharp; it's sleek and professional but not pretentious. This would go very well with men's work uniforms. As a teacher, I'll be able to wear cotton pants and even dressy slacks, along with shirt and tie, and this jacket will complete the ensemble. That said, you could wear this to a construction site and still fit in. Talk about versatile. This isn't something you'll wear when it's below 45 degrees or so (at least, not without layering). It's perfect, however, for fall and spring. This is a great buy. At this price, I'm seriously considering another one in a different color.

Be careful because it runs large. I normally take an XL but had to return it for a large.

This like all Carhartt products is of good quality and is a good jacket for those days where a heavy jacket doesn't fit the bill. In snowbelt states this jacket is ideal for Spring and early Fall. My one issue with the jacket is the sleeves are very long for instance in Large size they run about 2 inches longer than you are used to, this sleeve length would be expected on a Tall size but not regular sizes. I will have to return the jacket do to the sleeves being too long.

My GF got me this J293 Twill work Jacket in Navy Blue for X MAS 2011. I have wore this Jacket over a dozen times. It is amazing. It feels very nice. Its easy to move around it. Rain beads off of it. I can drive in my truck and not have to take it off because it dosen't ride up like the coats tend to do. This jacket is more of a warmer weather jacket. When its under 40 it can be a little too cold for this jacket by itself so I throw under a sweat shirt. I have other jackets/coats from carhartt for colder weather but this jacket I have been wearing most of the time because it has not really been cold enough to wear my others. I also, now always seem to grab this jacket more as it looks nice to go out in and I can feel comfy going out and leaving it on the entire time. Overall this jacket is amazing and I will have it for years to come. I will end up buying more and put my company name on it so I can get rid of the red kapp twill jackets and get more of these in black for work.

Perfect for Indoor Work

This jacket is perfect for anyone working indoors where it is slightly cool. I work in a grocery store and it gets pretty cold working in the dairy and frozen food coolers. I was wearing my Detroit Jacket for it, but it was too warm outside of the coolers and I would start sweating. This mid weight jacket is perfect. It keeps me warm in the coolers but not too warm out on the floor.
